From the Forests of Northern Iran to Holistic Healing in BC
My journey into naturopathic medicine began long before I wore a white coat. I was raised in a small city near the Caspian Sea, surrounded by the lush rainforests of northern Iran. Nature was my first teacher—it awakened my curiosity, grounded me deeply, and gave me an enduring sense of connection to all living things. Years later, it felt only natural to make a home in beautiful British Columbia, where that same connection continues to inspire me.
My path to medicine was rooted in a love of science and a fascination with the human experience. I earned my medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, one of the most prestigious institutions in Iran, and practiced as a family physician for over a decade—often in underserved and remote communities. I was drawn to general practice for its breadth, depth, and opportunity for meaningful human connection.
Beyond clinical care, I immersed myself in health research, co-founded ninisite.com (the first Farsi-language website for pregnancy and parenting), and explored emerging approaches like Health Psychology and Homeopathy. These insights brought me closer to the heart of healing, and over time, I began integrating them into my work.
After moving to Canada, I completed the full licensing process for conventional medicine and gained valuable experience as a clinical trainee and research assistant in academic and hospital settings. During this time, I discovered naturopathic medicine—a field that felt like the natural continuation of my journey. It aligned seamlessly with my background in Homeopathy and my long-standing passion for holistic, patient-centered care.
Naturopathic medicine brought together the science, spirituality, nature, and whole-person approach I had always valued. I later graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine – Toronto Campus, further grounding my practice in compassionate and evidence-informed integrative care.
Today, I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing in BC. I help patients navigate chronic conditions, hormonal imbalances, and emotional stress through compassionate, evidence-informed care. I also teach at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I mentor the next generation of naturopathic doctors. When I’m not in the clinic or classroom, I love cooking, painting, biking, or hiking with my family—still in awe of the natural world, just like when I was a child.
