Born on September 3, 1987, in Tabriz, Iran, Dr. Akbar (Alan) Barzegari has always been driven by a deep curiosity about human potential, strategy, and the power of mindset. A naturally analytical thinker and team player, his early interests in math, sports, and competition—from ping pong and volleyball to taekwondo—sparked a lifelong fascination with growth, performance, and human behavior.
After earning a nationwide rank of 38 in Iran’s highly competitive university entrance exam, Akbar entered Sharif University of Technology, one of the country’s top institutions, to study Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc., 2005–2009). But while mastering engineering systems, he found himself more intrigued by the mechanics of human behavior. This insight led him to pursue an MBA (2009–2011) at the same university, where he discovered his passion for organizational behavior and psychology—the bridge between logic and leadership.
Determined to deepen his understanding of people and performance, he completed a Ph.D. in Behavioral Management (2012–2021) at Shahid Beheshti University, focusing on the human side of business. His doctoral research, “Designing and Explaining the Deterrence Management Model of Abnormal Job Behaviors,” was published in the Strategic Management Thought Journal (2021), showcasing his evidence-based approach to leadership and behavior change.
Throughout his academic and professional journey, Dr. Barzegari built a strong foundation in consulting and organizational development, working with top Iranian firms on projects involving HR, motivation, team dynamics, and behavioral biases. He also led training workshops on stress management, conflict resolution, and performance optimization, helping leaders and teams align mindset with measurable success.
An accomplished entrepreneur with a strong track record of founding, leading, and serving on the boards of several successful companies in the oil and gas industry., Akbar spent eight years leading a company through rapid growth and economic challenges—an experience that taught him resilience, strategic agility, and the importance of human connection in business success.
His transition into coaching was a natural evolution. Drawn by the transformative power of mindset, he completed a year-long professional coaching program with the Farsi Coaching Academy (FCA) and earned his Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF)—the global gold standard in coaching excellence.
